In October 2014 emerged an idea to give XIX International Congress of the Polish Cardiac Society not only a medical theme – which was ‘atrial fibrillation’ – but also Congress it will be a unique event organized in an unusual formula.
The idea of a daily struggle of doctor-cardiologist – combined professionalism based on guidelines for dealing with an individual, innovative approach to each patient led to the leitmotif of the Congress – "Cardiology is art".
Thus, students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw took part in a competition for the best visual design of XIX Congress of the Polish Cardiac Society expressed in the sentence ‘Cardiology is art’ or connected with the subject ‘atrial fibrillation’ – leitmotif of the Congress.
The effects of their actions will be able to admire together during this special event. Thank you to everyone involved in this project, and behold winners of each category:

2. Michał Ruchel (Layout of the topic ‘Cardiology is art’ in an animated version)
3. Klaudia Kula (Congress poster, touching the issue of atrial fibrillation or the idea ‘Cardiology is art’)
4. Ewelina Kozina (Multimedia projects (video, animation, interactions) touching the issue of atrial fibrillation)
5. Weronika Lucińska (Any materialized spatial project (ceramics, glass) on the subject of atrial fibrillation or the idea ‘Cardiology is art’)
We encourage you to read the „Plan of the exhibition”, we pointed out the place where the exhibition of selected works and visit the Atrium of Art – a special place was prepared for spatial works (glass, ceramics).

On 20 January 2015 the jury (Rector of the Academy, Representatives of the Organizational Committee, representatives of casusBTL, instructors of the competition task, Competition Secretary) chose winning projects in four categories. The choice was very hard, works engaged into discussion and stimulated imagination. We would like to thank very much the students for their involvement.

The last stage of the competition – choosing the winner in the 5th category – took place in spring, on 25 May, 2015 in Galeria za Szybą. This time competition works once again surprised the jury which had hard time choosing one person. Authors’ creativity amazed and gave rise to discussion. We hope that you will also take your time to admire art in the vestibule of the Congress.
